Jared was influenced by his brothers who were pursuing their boxing careers, and starting training at the age of 10 years old. He was part of the Philippines National Amateur Boxing team from 2000 – 2005, and turned professional in 2006.

Loving the discipline of boxing, he focused on developing the ‘City Sports Development Program’ for the Valencia City Government, Philippines. These were targeted at helping athletes qualify for the Philippines National Games and Asia Games.
